The Armenian Guides Guild

The Armenian Guides Guild (AGG) is a non-profit organisation that is financed through membership fees, donations and sponsorship. Some of the organisation's main characteristics are as follows:

- The guild was created by guides with long-term operational experience in Armenian tourism. It was registered on 11 January 2005.

- The AGG is independent of third-party economic, political and religious interests.

- It has over 25 skilled and newly qualified tourist guides and tour leaders among its members.

- The AGG is interested in cooperating with associations, trade unions, enterprises, and independent individuals working in the tourism industry in Armenia and internationally.

The AGG's primary objective is to serve as an association of professional guides, safeguarding their professional interests and representing Armenia at international exhibitions and tour exchanges.

- The AGG also strives to constantly increase the professional knowledge and skills of its members, keeping up to date with current industry needs and trends.
- Members of the AGG speak nine languages.
- The AGG became a member of the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA) in September 2005, a federation comprising more than 70 countries worldwide.
- September 28, 2009. The Armenian Guides Guild was awarded Golden Medal from the Ministry of Economy of Armenia
- On 10 December 2014, as a result of its cooperation with the WFTGA, the AGG officially became the WFTGA's second International Training Centre and held its first training session in Yerevan.
Our main goal is to promote the development of tourism in Armenia, but we can only achieve this together!

The spiritual essence of the Armenian Guild of Guides and its founders:

Firstly, I would like to emphasise the spiritual significance of the Armenian Guides Guild, because it was founded on love. Love does not divide; it unites.
Love is a spiritual category. The founders of the Guild loved their work and their homeland. They wanted to pass on their unconditional love to all their young and future colleagues.

We should remember the names of the Armenian Guides Guild founders:
Beatrice Nshanyan, Julieta Khloyan, Nora Gasparyan, Svetlana Sargsyan and Liana Grigoryan. Alongside them were two modest assistants: Naira Sukiasyan and Margarita Navoyan. We were honoured to be close to our senior colleagues and participate in the sacred work of founding the Armenian Guides Guild. REMEMBER!

The founders of the Armenian Guides Guild were the first guides in Armenia. During those difficult Soviet years, they devoted their skills to making their homeland recognisable and beloved. They were beautiful, intelligent Armenian women and simply good people. They taught us to be conscious citizens and decent people.

By founding the Guild, they wanted to ensure a generational change, passing on their knowledge and skills to develop their beloved profession. Everyone who was fortunate enough to know them will always cherish their memory and continue their work.

Beatrice Nshanyan, Julieta Khloyan and Nora Gasparyan are no longer with us. Each of them, with their unique biographies, characters, personalities, high level of education, human dignity and professional authority, will remain in the history of the Guild. We express our immense gratitude and bow low in eternal memory of them.

Written: Blessed is India, for it alone was able to preserve the noble idea of the teacher. I would like to add that Armenia is not far behind. Therefore, we thank our teachers once again and congratulate all of us on the existence of the Guild.
